A recent trend in pop culture has been the use of anti-capitalist themes and anti-establishment tropes to appeal to an increasingly large audience. Netflix's La Casa de Papel breaks the established mold with frequent allusions to Spain's revolutionary history in order to comment on contemporary social and political issues as well as the movements surrounding them.
